Your ads get clicks but no sales? 6 reasons and how to fix them

October 20, 2026

You launched a campaign, the reports show thousands of views and hundreds of clicks — yet the phone is quiet and sales haven’t moved. This is one of the most common situations we see with new clients, and the good news is that the cause is rarely “ads don’t work”. In most cases the problem sits somewhere between the click and the purchase.

Here are six reasons we find again and again, and what to do about each one.

1. The campaign is optimised for the wrong goal

Ad platforms deliver exactly what you ask for. If the campaign objective is traffic or engagement, the algorithm finds people who like to click and react — not people who buy. Choose the objective that matches the action you actually want: messages, leads or purchases. Results may look smaller on paper, but they will be closer to real customers.

2. The landing page doesn’t sell

A visitor decides within seconds whether to stay. If the page loads slowly on mobile, opens on a generic home page, or hides the offer under long paragraphs, the click is wasted. A page that converts usually has:

  • A headline that repeats the promise of the ad
  • Clear photos of the product or service, and the price or a starting price
  • One main action — call, WhatsApp or a short form — visible without scrolling
  • Proof: reviews, client logos or before-and-after results
  • Fast loading on a normal mobile connection

3. Leads wait too long for a reply

A person who sent a message about your offer is interested now. If the reply comes the next day, they have already contacted a competitor. Set a clear rule for your team — reply within minutes during working hours — use ready replies for common questions on WhatsApp, and make sure someone owns every new lead.

4. The audience is too broad or simply wrong

Targeting “everyone in Egypt aged 18–65” spreads the budget across people who will never buy. Start from who your best customers really are: location, age, interests and buying power. Then use retargeting to reach people who already visited your page or watched your videos — they are usually the cheapest customers to convert.

5. The offer isn’t clear enough to act on

“High quality at the best price” doesn’t give anyone a reason to buy today. A strong offer answers three questions quickly: what do I get, how much does it cost, and why should I act now? A limited-time discount, a free consultation, a bundle or free delivery can turn interest into action.

6. Nothing is being measured

Without tracking, you can’t tell which ad brings sales and which one only brings clicks. Install the Meta Pixel and the Conversions API, set up conversion tracking on Google, add UTM links to your campaigns, and ask every new customer how they heard about you. Then move budget towards what really sells.

A quick checklist before your next campaign

  • Is the campaign objective the same as the result I want?
  • Does the landing page load fast on mobile and show the offer immediately?
  • Is there one clear way to contact us or buy?
  • Who replies to new leads, and how fast?
  • Can I see which ad produced each sale?

If you answered “no” to more than one question, fix that first — before increasing the budget.
